Happy 7th birthday from the Book of You book club, where we collect and cherish childhood memories together.

1. The Moment

Year seven - before you blow up the balloons and ice the cake, now is the time to get your Book of You and capture your best memories from the year.

1. Grab a snack and find a quiet spot
2. Get some pens, paints, photos and your Book of You
3. Read the prompts, start some great conversations, and capture those memories

2. The Memory

You might find out things you didn't know!

To share your memory, tag @colour.chronicles on instagram. If we feature yours on our social or here, we’ll send you a book of your choice.

3. The Advice You Didn't Ask For

“If John Lennon was right that life is what happens when you're making other plans, parenthood is what happens when everything is flipped over and spilling everywhere and you can't find a towel or a sponge or your 'inside' voice.”

— Kelly Corrigan, author of Lift

4. The Parent Friend

Sergei Urban and The Dad Lab

Sergei Urban, father of Max and Alex, created the Dad Lab as a way to share the experiments he does with his kids on Instagram. We love his posts, his You Tube channel, and his book, for the endless supply of ideas for fun, messy, and sometimes mind-blowing things to do.

5. The Memory Maker

'Yes Day!'

This one takes guts, but you might just love it. For one day you flip the family hierarchy and put kids in charge. They get to choose what the family does, eats, plays, wears, watches, and even when you go to bed. Yes, you have to lay some ground rules, like nothing dangerous, illegal, or too expensive, but other than that they have absolute power. They get a sense of freedom and responsibility, and you might just have one of the funniest days of the year.

Download the free 'Yes Day' planner to help you plan the day.
