Happy 9th birthday from the Book of You book club, where we collect and cherish childhood memories together.

1. The Moment

Year nine - nine already! The good news is, it's a wonderful age. You can have real conversations and make jokes about one another, and they're growing up, but they're not grown up yet. Time to capture the moment with your Book of You.

1. Create some time for the two of you
2. Take a blanket, pens, and hot chocolate or ice creams, depending on the season, then head to the park
3. Take turns in filling in your sections - you have so much to talk about!

2. The Memory

It's so lovely to know that in years to come, they get to read back what you have written.

To share your memory, tag @colour.chronicles on instagram. If we feature yours on our social or here, we’ll send you a book of your choice.

3. The Advice You Didn't Ask For

“I feel very blessed to have two wonderful, healthy children who keep me completely grounded, sane, and throw up on my shoes just before I go to an awards show just so I know how to keep it real.”

— Reese Witherspoon, actress

Make a Home Science Lab!

Give your kids' curiosity a boost, and spend some time bonding, with at-home science experiments. Our favourites are making a volcano, elephants's toothpaste, and slime. We also love crystal growing and magic milk. White coats are not required - but aprons might be handy!
